SoPritti fashion and lifestyle exhibition returns to Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Following an extremely successful Ramadan Souk venture in May, the SoPritti exhibition – one of the UAE’s leading fashion, glamour and lifestyle events – returns for a 15th season this autumn, with the added draw of a maiden foray in the UAE capital.

Kicking off in Dubai on 23rd September at Al Murooj Rotana Hotel, the coveted event has garnered widespread acclaim across the UAE’s fashion community for being the only unique exhibition to bring highly-renowned Indian and Pakistani fashion, jewellery and accessory designers to the UAE. The event will have items from a variety of couturiers and distributors with the widest choice of latest concepts and trends from the fashion division- all under one roof.

This autumn’s SoPritti edition will see 45 high-profile names gathered under one roof, with an impressive roster of designers traveling to the UAE after wowing crowds at India’s most exclusive fashion event, India Couture Week.

Top Indian designers, Rimple & Harpreet Narula, Reynu Taandon and Rina Dhaka are among this SoPritti season’s star players, while top-notch Pakistani designers Agha Noor, AFH by Ayesha Farook, Maheen Karim and Gul Ahmed will also be presenting their intricate ready-to-wear collections and world-famous couture and occasion wear to the city’s most discerning fashion followers.
For the first time in its history, the SoPritti exhibition will also be making its way to Abu Dhabi, where it will set up shop on 25th September at the Dusit Thani Hotel. In what will be the designers’ first foray in Abu Dhabi – as well as the biggest event of its kind in the capital – organisers promise an extravagant celebration of colours, demure designs and glamorous cuts and fits.

Returning this season is SoPritti stalwart and celebrity jewellery designer, Queenie Singh, whose pieces adorn many a Hollywood and Bollywood star including Naomi Campbell, Chelsea Clinton, Kangana Ranaut and Katrina Kaif, while show favourites Rimple & Harpreet Narula are also among the list of dressmakers to the stars, counting Malaika Arora Khan and Prachi Desai among their celebrity client list.

New to this season’s agenda is Sarab Khanijou – a dynamic, young and up-and-coming menswear designer who launched his label STITCH in 2010. Hailing from Mussoorie, India, Khanijou’s modern-day creations carry a balanced fusion of symmetry and colour that are popular with a number of Bollywood actors including Sidarth Malhotra, Arjun Kappoor and Randeep Hooda.

“Each season the SoPritti Fashion, Glamour and Lifestyle exhibition goes from strength to strength. For our 15th edition, we are enhancing that lineage by offering both our loyal customers and new clients access to a more diverse selection of the sub-continent’s leading designers than ever before,” said Pritti Nanda, the force behind the SoPritti events. “We are also expanding our reach to Abu Dhabi, going above and beyond to put on an exhibition the fashion community will never forget.”
