DAY THREE OF VOD DUBAI INTERNATIONAL JEWELLERY SHOW CONTINUES TO DAZZLE DUBAI

Coloured stone themed catwalk shows, trend seminars and a multi-cultural one-off exhibition continues to draw the crowds to Dubai World Trade Centre

Dubai, UAE – Saturday 18 November, 2017: As the third day of VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show, the Middle East’s leading fine jewellery and gems exhibition, comes to a close, both retail buyers and Dubai’s most stylish consumers have been maximising their networking potential, executing numerous business deals and adding dazzling precious stones to their personal accessories’ collections amid strong sales throughout the day.

One exhibitor boasting positive sales over the last few days is Thangam Jewellers which stocks a number of local and regional brands including the award-winning, Indian-born Vasupati Jewellers. Priding itself on its completely hand-made, specially-crafted designs that pay tribute to the uncut diamond, creations are extremely delicate with intricate engraving. Also of note is its Golden Light collection which comprises uncut diamonds and gold mixed with emerald and rubies. “The exhibition has been a success for us so far, we and we look forward to making more sales in the closing day of the show,” says Mansukh Kothari, Director of Vasupati Jewellers. “We have met with many potential buyers already, especially those from Pakistan and Bangladesh.”

Not just a hub for scores of exclusive new jewellery collections and brand launches, innovations in production and technology also take pride of place at the show, with South African jeweller Skylar T leading the way. Creators of the only diamond in the world that glows at night, it is taking the industry to new horizons thanks to its patented Night Glow technology that allows its Ocular Brand diamonds to glow for up to eight hours at night in the colours of Caribbean Blue and Sea Foam green. 100% natural, untreated and genuine, there are no batteries, wires and the diamonds haven’t been exposed to any form of radiation – they are simply the next generation of diamonds that are set to take the industry by storm.

Following on from two previous days of runway shows in collaboration with Arab Fashion Week, the Fashion Tableau Vivant catwalk once again attracted a super-stylish audience, as models dressed in local designer; Aiisha Ramadan’s ethereal collection came down the catwalk dripping in diamonds with stunning jewellery pieces from Italian brand Stefan Hafner.

The Fauvist Fantasy jewellery catwalk sessions featured a line-up of eye-catching coloured stones which made their way down five 15-minute runway displays, which included designs by Angeletti 1940, Jewels of Jaipur, Hazoorilal Jewellers Pvt Ltd, Oro Trend and Hasbani.

Friday also saw Ellen Kerry, Deputy Editor of Ahlan! magazine, take to the stage with Nina Ali – the Lebanese-American mothering force behind Instagram and Snapchat sensation @LipstickMommy. Discussing the importance and placement of coloured gemstones in the dynamic jewellery industry. This was followed by a 15-minute meet-and-greet with her fans and followers.

Aside from these open-to-all consumer events, a number of dedicated private events also took place throughout the day and proved to be very successful.

Guests today (18 November) can look forward to the last of the event’s daily fashion shows and the New Jeweller Heritage Jewellery Design Competition and Awards, presented by Jawhara Jewellery Group.
