Connect, Obsess, Disconnect – Digital Sulfur SS18

The Jitrois house has always used film as a crucial tool of creation. For this project Jean- Claude enlisted Camille Summers-Valli and Nicolas Santos to create a subversive and confrontational film that centres on the new conventions of modern romance. It is divided into three distinct chapters – ‘Connect, Obsess, Disconnect.’

This film embodies augmented life for all; voyeurism, exhibitionism, selfies, all the behaviours released across social networks, from soft to hard, by the ‘digital natives’ from the YouTube generation to the YouPorn generation.

Connect reveals the relationship between two individuals, brought together through an algorithm, which is the norme of 2018. The first interactions, the first attentions, the beginnings of seduction ..
Obsess follows the intimacy and the first fantasies. The waiting, the imagination, the devotion, the letting go, the unrequited, the giving, the dreams – to be dominated and to lead …

Disconnect explores the power cut, the forgotten password, the sharp return to reality, the love that comes and goes in the whirlwind of life.

The spring-summer 2018 vision centres on the evolution of the codes of creation and transgression. In the period of webcams, iMessage and permanent connectivity, the Jitrois second skin stimulates a renewal of interactions. This digitised social dimension has been translated onto the individual.
