Global & locally based retreat company H Retreats have partnered with expat lifestyle blog Shimmering Sands to launch an all-female one day a month Dubai retreat. Introducing Dubai’s first “Wellness Saturday.” If you’re looking for some time off the Dubai hustle to recharge and find a place of calm, reflection, expansion of health awareness, or personal growth, the (once a month) Saturday wellness day is just for you! “Wellness Saturday” is a sanctuary for peace, mindfulness, personal growth and healthy living. Treat yourself to a day of self-love and pampering. Join the intimate group for a retreat in various locations in the UAE, every month.

Attendees can enjoy a day of self-nurturing, mindfulness and relaxation with the H Retreats x Shimmering Sands introduction to a holistic lifestyle. Start the day with a session called “An Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation,” with Briar Jacques – counselling psychologist and mindfulness trainer. In this session, the group will explore mindfulness – what it is, what it isn’t and how we can bring more of it into our busy lives. Followed by yoga and meditation with Eva. Enjoy time in the spa to relax and unwind followed by a three-course healthy lunch at La Baie lounge. The final session of the day “Letting go of your fears with an introduction to hypnotherapy” with inspirational speaker Dr. Hanan Selim. This is a great way to end an educational, soulful, uplifting and mindful day of events.

The Saturday wellness programme will differ each month – starting from 9:00am and ending at 5:30pm. Each monthly programme will focus on particular health and wellness themes. The following months ahead will dedicate the day to other various topics such as nutrition, holistic pregnancy, a holistic approach to parenthood, healthy healing; always inclusive of an element of education towards a more mindful you.


It’s a full-day of nurturing and learning – guided by experienced therapists, knowledgeable teachers and qualified doctors. Every “Wellness Saturday” includes a healthy, delicious lunch with fresh juices throughout the day. The package also includes a morning or evening meditation session (for all levels), yoga (in various styles, from Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga and Yin – amongst others), educational workshops and personal one-on-one consultations and sessions.
