Andermatt, September 2018 – More than 60 ultra rare cars from past and present gathered on September 1st and 2nd at The Chedi Andermatt, for “The SOC Weekend” event hosted by the Supercar Owners Circle (SOC), a network of the world’s most discerning car collectors.
Owners of the world’s rarest cars met at The Chedi Andermatt in Switzerland to enjoy a mix of speed and beautiful landscapes in the heart of the Swiss alps. Participants of the event were offered the rare opportunity to drive their special cars over the closed Oberalp Pass and test their limits on the nearby Ambri Airport. Collectors also had the unique opportunity to enter the Porta Alpina to witness the private unveiling of the newest Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the supercar that just made its debut on Thursday 24th August in California.
Amongst the many other highlights were a Gala Dinner at The Chedi Andermatt, hosted in collaboration with Switzerland‘s most famous chef, interesting presentation by Automobili Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Pirelli and RM Sotheby’s, as well as a charity auction.
Amongst the participating cars were some of the most iconic vehicles from the past, like for example the Ferrari 250 SWB Berlinetta, the Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing, or Aston Martin DB4 GT, alongside of the more recent hyper cars like Bugatti Chiron, Pagani Zonda LM, Ferrari LaFerrari, to mention just a few.
The SOC Weekend Switzerland in Andermatt is the third SOC event of 2018. The next SOC event will take place in Abu Dhabi and Dubai on December 2nd, to celebrate the 47th UAE National Day.
