All Things MOCHI Launches In American Rag CIE, Dubai Mall

The worlds most renowned embroidery brand, introduces its vibrant SS19 collection inspired by traditional Polynesia.

The collection is inspired by the Polynesian culture. Polynesians have inherited a rich, expressive culture from their Ma’ohi ancestors. From the Ma’ohi came the pulse of the Polynesian life, a world where the

lives of gods and men have crossed in colorful legends. Polynesian culture is a place where music, dance and art rose from the wonders of everyday island life, especially in Tahiti.

For this collection, Mochi has included Tiare, which means flowers, to emphasize the strong bond between the Polynesians and nature. In addition, the embroidery includes tattoos, known as tatau, in which each line drawn gives an essence of meaning and life to the body. Tie dye print is also incorporated to show the unique Tahitian technique of handmade art work, created with colors that express the vibrant culture of Polynesia.

Mochi was born to support stitching communities and their talented work worldwide. Travelling to different destinations to design a collection, we support these communities by creating jobs and opportunities for work among these women in the hopes of contributing to their well-being, standard of living and purchasing power. Mochi is proud to have used ancient bright colored embroidery to create tribal chic collections from India, Thailand, Budapest,

Palestine, Uzbekistan, Spain, African, Morocco and Mexico.  Focusing on a cultural journey by creating modern trend silhouettes, we effortlessly merge eastern and western sensibilities and encourage talent from the communities.
