Dubai is set to raise the entertainment bar this weekend hosting a wide range of talent as part of the 25th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF). The city has a series of fun-filled events and live entertainment lined up from Wednesday 22 January to Saturday 25 January. Residents and visitors can explore a wide range of spectacular events including experiences, concerts and activities planned for everyone across all age groups, nationalities and interests, taking place in every corner of the city.
Got Talent will take place at City Walk from 22 to 25 January where audiences can expect superb live performances by the likes of Collabro and Escala – both from Britain’s Got Talent. Renowned magician Marc Spelman will also be present to perform an immersive and emotive show and promises to blow minds away. Performers Iman El Chomaity and Emanne Beasha, the winner of Arabs Got Talent will serenade audiences while Alex Magala from Russia’s Got Talent will blow minds away with his sword swallowing techniques. Sixth-generation circus performer Alfredo Silva and his wife Anna Silva are set to impress crowds with their knife throwing acts. These are just a few but visitors can expect many more amazing performances over the course of the four days. There will be shows taking place daily between the hours of 6:00 and 10:00 pm and entrance is free every day.
Those heading to the Al Khawaneej area can catch music and dance performances from 23 – 25 January including performances by Sarah Shebani, BBoy dancers, LED jugglers and DJ Patchoulee. For the health-conscious and fitness lovers, there is a special cross-fit tournament planned at Al Rigga on 25 January at 4:00 pm. There will also be ‘Dubai has talent’ competition where amateur singers, magicians and other performers can wow the crowds and stand a chance to win big, all they need to do is post a short video of themselves showcasing their talent on any DSF social channel. The competition will run on social media and six winners will receive an AED 2,000 voucher, a ten-minute slot to perform in front of audiences at Al Seef and Swyp MOTB, three winners at each market, as well as a final cut of their on-stage video. It is the perfect opportunity for anyone to show off their inner star.
Theater-lovers can watch the exciting new production of the internationally bestselling book Le Petit Prince running at Dubai Opera this weekend, 23 to 25 January with matinee performances at 3:00 pm and an evening run at 8:00 pm. Le Petit Prince’s cosmic and fantastic world of stunning sets and costumes is sure to immerse audiences in an extraordinary journey of the little prince lost in the desert.
Makeup and beauty lovers should head over to Mall of Emirates from 23 January until the end of DSF to check out celebrity makeup artist, Charlotte Tilbury’s pop-up inspired by London’s Big Ben and the launch of the ‘talk of the town’ in the beauty world – the Pillow Talk collection. Shoppers can try out new looks and win prizes and experience the dreamy new range.
One of the most acclaimed recording artists in the world, known for creating his own unique rhythm is descending on Dubai this weekend. Egyptian legend and Arabic singing sensation Amr Diab will take to the stage at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on 24 January to dazzle audiences with his voice. Arabic music lovers can expect to hear the singer perform tunes like Nour El Ain and Ana 3ayesh among others.
One of India’s leading singer-songwriter, Prateek Kuhad will perform in Dubai for the very first time at the Rotunda at Caesars Palace Bluewaters on 24 January.
Indian standup comedian, television presenter, actor and talent Kapil Sharma will entertain Dubai-based audiences from the Indian subcontinent on 24 January at the Coca-Cola Arena. Known for his quick wit and relatable observations from South Asia, Kapil has become wildly popular among the old and young alike.
